Exploring Art in Therapy

Dream Psychology

Brenda Blake

This workshop is CPD only and is open to all, no previous experience is needed.

4 weekly sessions* 7.30pm to 9.30pm
*After the first session this will be a closed group
4th, 11th, 28th & 25th November, 2016.

Using art as therapy is not about drawing or painting pictures, it is a way of accessing information beyond the conscious mind, where a colour, shape or texture becomes a symbol of something in your life. We are all connected to our unconscious mind but not everyone has acquired the tools to gai

n and use the information it gives us. This workshop is about exploring and using some of the tools in a safe supported way and to be able to take away with you something that you can apply in your everyday life.

Dream Psychology

Using Art as Therapy, Body Awareness, Active Imagination and Personal Committment.

You do not need any special skills to do these workshops but you do need a willingness to be open to change and to be moved by something other than your conscious mind.

You need to bring comfortable clothes that may get grubby, plus a journal, pens and coloured pencils.

About Brenda

I have spent most of my life exploring my inner world. I have been blessed to have studied with teacher and author Tony Crisp (,  where I learnt how to work with my dreams, and to honour my body mind connections. Working in this way brought to life my creativity, this I use constantly as a way of personal growth, and for understanding and processing what I discover. Sweet Track also gave me the chance of using my creativity as way of expressing my understanding of the counselling work.

As well as working as a volunteer counsellor and using art in my therapy at Royal Princess Trust Hospital Andover caring for carers,  I have taught the value of dreams at Tafe (Adult Learning collage) in Tasmania, run a  group in Victoria Australia as an art therapist and  I run my own workshops in the UK.   I am a mother of three children and have two grandchildren.
