She Who Walks With Stones & Sings

Collected Poems
By Rachael Clyne

She who walks with stones and sings

Astonishingly rich poetry, full of spirit and humour, these poems touch the reader at the deepest level. Rachael draws much of her inspiration from the landscape, from nature and her love for the Goddess. She also draws from her Jewish background and uses poetry to express different aspects of the human journey: death and loss, family, relationships. She comments with humour on the challenges of aging. Rachael’s vision can make us laugh, cry, feel anger or joy as the rhythms of her writing awaken the passion of our inner witness. Rachael has been writing and performing poetry for nearly twenty years.

Breaking the Spell arose from Rachael's own journey of recovery from low self-esteem as well as many years of working as a counsellor and therapist.  She shares techniques she developed to help herself and which have proven highly successful with her clients. It draws on a variety of approaches: cognitive behavioural methods, Twelve-Step recovery work, spiritual and creative techniques.

Rachael offers courses and in-house training based on her self-esteem work.

Rachael Clyne
"I'm able to banish negative thinking and stay away
from people who are bad for my mental health."

Breaking the Spell aims to put its ideas across in a direct and accessible manner. Rachael has worked in a variety of settings, including addiction recovery and GP surgeries and has had to find the language to meet the needs of a wide range of people, with differing degrees of life experience, and awareness.

By sharing her own experience, Breaking the Spell has a sense of equality and aliveness as well as depth. It explains how self-esteem operates and offers ways of breaking destructive behaviour patterns. Each chapter contains creative activities for developing a healthier and more loving sense of self.
